The Semantic Web may one day be your friend

Simon Price and I have written an article for a newsletter for information researchers about the Semantic Web (freepint.com). Simon’s a colleague of mine at ILRT, and is also doing some very interesting stuff with prolog and FOAF as part of his PhD on Machine Learning the Semantic Web. We’ve had some reasonable feedback from people who are keen to know what the Semantic Web is from a not-too-technical background. Andrew Newman is tired of hearing about FOAF as the vanguard of the Semantic Web, but actually it makes for a rather nice example, especially in this transition period.
